1/30 Scale Swinging Bridge for RC Rock Crawlers

 Add a unique technical obstacle to your 1/30 scale rock crawling course with this flexible swinging bridge. This bridge is designed to move and dip under the weight of your crawler, forcing you to carefully control your throttle and line as you cross.

The bridge deck is made from a series of logs connected with ball chains, allowing it to flex naturally just like a real suspension bridge. As your crawler drives across, the bridge will sway and shift, creating a fun and unpredictable challenge.

This obstacle works great in indoor crawler courses, tabletop courses, or scale trail layouts and adds a lot of visual realism to any setup. It has screw holes in the mounting logs to put it anywhere! I have one end screwed to the window seal and the other end to a board that has a little weight on it and it works great.

• Uses ball chains to allow natural movement and flex. I got the chains on Amazon and you can make it as long as you want, I added a file that is only logs for another set. You could also use paracord or anything else that fits in the holes..

Printing

• Bridge deck prints in individual pieces, logs, mounting logs, a filler log to cover the connection point, and the chain retainer pieces which are in a separate download so they wouldn't accidentally get fuzzy skin.
• No supports required.
• PLA or PETG recommended.
• Length can be adjusted by printing more or fewer logs! The one pictured is two H2D plates full of logs, a double print.

Assembly

The bridge segments are connected using ball chains, which allow the bridge to flex and swing naturally. The ends can be attached to platforms, rocks, or course structures depending on your layout. You can also use paracord and just tie knots for the retainers or just tie them to whatever you want..

Course Ideas

• Span between rock obstacles.
• Cross over gaps or drops.
• Combine with steep climbs for a technical section.
