AMS Filament Labelling

DESCRIPTION

I found it useful to have at a glance labels for each of the filaments loaded into an AMS.  For example, when you have black in PLA+ and PETG, it can be hard to tell them apart by just the filament colour, alone.

I designed a unique filament tag plate for each filament and a holder.  The tag identifies filament details such as colour, plastic type and the brand.  The holder is attached to the front of the AMS and held in-place with double sided tape.

I printed each tag in their native plastic and colour, making the tag useful to see other visual effects of the filament, too.  The tags are also designed so that their text can be printed in a separate colour to the overall tag colour, making the text readable.

There are possibly thousands of filaments and brands, so I have only created a few filament tags reflecting my current needs.  I'm willing to create additional filament tags on request, too.

TAG PLATE CUSTOMISATION

I’ve included a “dummy” tag plate.  The blank plate has had text added via the Bambu Studio “text” function.  The text is defined as imbedded by 0.6mm.  There are three separate rows of text that can be customised with your own text content.  The text position, font and size are all customisable.  The plate and the text colours are to be defined by you, also. So, make your own tags, too …

PRINTING INFORMATION

My prints are typically made with the referenced material, for example 1.75mm eSUN PLA+ Silver, with 0.2mm layer height on a Bambu Lab H2D printer.

Both the print profiles and the individual STL files are included for download.

06/03/2024 Added a new holder with a tighter fit to the label plate.
