The MAXi Train series continues its journey to the heart of the United Kingdom with London City, a tribute to the timeless charm and motion of one of the world’s most iconic cities. Above ground, the unmistakable silhouette of Big Ben and Westminster Abbey anchors the skyline, joined by the majestic Tower Bridge, its twin towers standing strong across the Thames. Nearby, the sleek curves of The Gherkin rise alongside the towering London Eye, which turns gently, offering a panoramic view over a city in constant movement. Crisscrossing the streets, the legendary red double-decker buses glide through the miniature city thanks to a rotating mechanism, giving life and rhythm to the London scene. Their timeless presence captures the soul of the city — always moving, always iconic. But the true innovation lies beneath the cobbled streets and classic facades. For the very first time in the MAXi or Mini Train universe, a fully integrated underground level brings depth to the diorama — both visually and mechanically. Below the surface, the London Tube rumbles through its tunnels, a miniature train looping tirelessly through a hidden network, echoing the pulse of the real city. This unseen dimension turns London Underground into more than just a display — it becomes a living system. The contrast between the vibrant cityscape above and the silent momentum below creates a magical duality unique to this model. As with every MAXi Train creation, London City blends architecture, movement, and storytelling into a collectible full of character. From iconic landmarks to never-before-seen mechanics, it captures the essence of London — bold, layered, and unforgettable.

 

This new design is based on the Mini Train Collection of BamBam Design (https://linktr.ee/bambamdesign). This model is 2.5X bigger than usual BamBam Design Mini Train Collection. You are free to adapt the scale if you want to make it compatible with other designs. In this case, be aware that some piece might be very small and also make sure to also apply the same ratio for magnets. Apply a 40% or 0.4 ratio to be compatible with BamBam Design Mini Train Collection.

Assembly:

 

Needed :

• 24x Round Magnet 10x5mm

 

Steps:

 

1. Insert 3pcs magnets in the base plate.
2. Insert 3pcs magnets in the underground plate. These magnets must attract the base plate.
3. Insert 3pcs magnets (10x5mm) in the buses (Double-Decker Bus).
4. Insert 3pcs magnets (10x5mm) in the wheel’s pin. These magnets must attract the buses (Double-Decker Bus).
5. Insert 6pcs magnets (10x5mm) in the trains (London Tube).
6. Insert 6pcs magnets (10x5mm) in the wheel. These magnets must attract the trains (London Tube).
7. Add the wheel’s pin onto the wheel, fix the wheel to the base by pressing gently. Wheel’s pin must follow the designated path. You can use the trains or some spare magnets to prevent the wheel’s pin movements of the path while doing so.
8. Fix the terrain to the base by using trees dedicated. You can add a bit of glue to combine.
9. Fix others elements such as monuments and buildings. You can add a bit of glue to combine.
10. Fix the wheel (London Eye) by using a very small part of fresh white filament.
11. Turn the wheel and have fun!
