Description
This holder allows you to store the glass top cover of the printer in a safe and stable way and up to 8 build plates.
With an inclination of 6º to the vertical plane, the glass is stabilized by its own mass.
A simpler version of this, only for the glass, is available: Top Glass Support
The 3mf file provided already includes the correct layout and parameterization of what is needed to perform the printing.
The material can be PLA; however, this material is known to degrade over time and can become brittle. So, if you want a more durable solution, you can resort to PETG, or a composite material, like PETG+CF or PLA+CF, ABS or ASA. The one I personally use for this project was PETG+CF, you cannot see any layers, mate and very “dry” to the touch. I like it a lot.
If you use this affiliate links to buy filament, it will cost you the same and I will get a small " kickback". Thanks !
Some parts on the 3mf, have the prefix _TPU, that parts should be printed with a flexible material.
Regarding the assembly, this is straightforward, the only aspect that can be more challenging are the TPU inserters. The next picture may help on this task. They are different for each zone (glass and build plates) so you can't be wrong.
I am not responsible for any material or physical damage that may arise from the use of this support.
(25-09-2023) - Added a version with two spacers, this was asked for a user, and some of you may want this too, so here it is. (Top Glass and Build Plates Support_V2.3mf)
