Description
I built this OpenSCAD script so you can easily generate custom non-slip pads from flexible filaments (TPU) specifically designed for your 3D projects, without needing to know any CAD software.
Just tweak a few sliders in the customizer to set your exact base dimensions, foot shape, height, and spacing. The script handles the hard part for you: it automatically calculates the maximum number of grip points that will fit and perfectly centers the grid. For round bases, it even uses polar coordinates to distribute the feet in neat, concentric rings, ensuring no feet clip over the edges. No manual measuring or arranging arrays in your slicer. Just generate the pad, print it in TPU, and attach it to your project.
These pads are designed to provide maximum friction and a clean, professional look. Everything prints in one single piece. Just print the pad, attach it with some double-sided tape or glue to your organizers, tool docks, a chair or even from the bottom of the carpet to prevent it from moving, and you are good to go.
Default slicer profiles often struggle with High-Speed TPUs, leading to severe stringing, bad bridging, and messy overhangs. The linked profiles have been extensively heavily modified to fix this.
For the best settings , here is what I usually use. If you want to save time tuning your slicer for flexible filaments, I highly recommend using a tested TPU print profile from either of these three creators:
SpicyElephant - Perfect TPU print settings
AllFor3D - The Perfect TPU profile
jimcorner - High Speed TPU Printing Profile
They have dialed in the settings really nice.
Always remember to dry your TPU thoroughly before printing and feed it directly to the printer—do not use the AMS, as flexible filaments will eventually jam it.
If you come up with a really useful application—whether it is a heavy workshop tool base, a charging dock, or a custom electronics case—please upload a print profile and drop a photo in the comments. Seeing what you guys make helps me improve future versions!
