Light Switch Cover (Philips Hue / Smart Bulbs)

This cover prevents a wall switch from being accidentally turned off, which is especially useful when using smart bulbs such as Philips Hue or other smart lighting systems. Turning off the physical switch cuts power to the bulb and disables its smart features. This cover keeps the switch permanently on while still allowing easy removal if needed.

 

The cover simply rests over the switch plate and blocks manual access to the switch. No screws, adhesive, or permanent modifications are required.

Supported Switches

The model currently includes presets for 10 known switch types. These presets allow you to quickly generate a cover that matches common switch shapes and sizes.

  • Schneider Ovalis (New Model - 2022+)
  • Schneider Odace
  • Schneider Odace Touch
  • Schneider Miluz ED
  • Legrand Celiane (New Gen - after 2023)
  • Legrand Celiane (Old Gen - before 2023)
  • Legrand Dooxie
  • Legrand Neptune
  • Legrand Mosaic
  • Alvais Alombard (Schneider)

More switch presets will likely be added in future updates. To create these presets, I purchased and measured several switches available on the market in 2026. Unless otherwise specified (for example New Gen or Old Gen), the presets correspond to switches that are currently sold in stores.

Logo Options

Each switch preset includes three front plate variations:

  • Hue new logo (cut) – the logo is cut through the plate
  • Hue new logo (inlay) – designed for a color inlay if you want a two-color print
  • No logo – clean and minimal design

This allows you to choose the style that best fits your setup.

 

If you use the MakerWorld parametric customization, you can also replace the Hue logo with your own SVG file. This makes it possible to personalize the cover with:

  • Your own logo
  • A symbol
  • A custom icon
  • Custom text

Simply upload your SVG in the customization interface and the model will generate the plate with your design.

Parametric Customization

If your switch is not included in the presets, you can use the MakerWorld parametric customization to define:

  • Switch width
  • Switch height
  • Switch depth
  • Wall thickness
  • Corner radius
  • Other geometry details
  • Custom SVG

This makes the model compatible with virtually any wall switch.

 

⚠️ Important ⚠️
When entering the switch dimensions in the parametric settings, it is recommended to add about 0.2–0.3 mm of tolerance to the measured dimensions.
This ensures the cover fits properly after printing and compensates for typical 3D printing tolerances.
