Googly the One-Eyed Fidget Monster

Meet Googly, your new favourite little weirdo. This one-eyed monster has a fully movable eyeball that moves around in its socket, so you can point its gaze wherever you fancy. It prints in three simple pieces (body, eyeball, and pupil). Googly is a brilliant fidget toy for restless hands and an equally great desk buddy keeping watch over your keyboard.

Assembly is genuinely beginner friendly. You'll want light supports just for the socket overhang, everything else prints clean. Try mixing filament colours for the body, eyeball, and pupil to give each Googly its own personality, and print a little family in red, yellow, and green like the photos. They make ace pocket money gifts too.

Filament Colour & Material

PLA is perfect here and keeps things easy for beginners. Go for a bright body colour like red, yellow, or green, with a white eyeball and black pupil for that classic googly look.

Print Settings

• Wall line count: 2 or more
• Infill: 15%
• Layer Height 0.16
• This print uses 0.6mm layers as the default, initial, and outer walls.

Assembly Instructions

You'll have 3 printed parts when everything finishes: the body, 1 white eyeball, and 1 black pupil.

Step 1: Assemble the eye 

Take a black pupil and press it into the front of a white eyeball. Dry fit it to ensure you’re happy, then use a little dab of glue on the inside of the socket. 

Step 2: Pop the eyes into the sockets 

Line up an assembled eyeball with one of the eye sockets and press it gently but firmly into place. You'll feel it click in once it's seated. 

Step 3: Give them a spin 

Once the eyes are in, rotate it around to set the perfect goofy expression. 

Quick tips:

• If an eye feels too tight to press in, give the socket rim a quick check for any stringing or small blobs and trim if needed.
