Customizable Silicone Tip Storage Case for Earbuds

A convenient and compact storage option for organizing all sizes of your earbud tips!

Note: My print profiles each contain 4 plates, which includes all combinations of standard pegs, thin pegs, flat lid, and hexagon lid. However, you will only need to print one plate for all of the necessary parts. Pay close attention to the names of the plates when choosing one. The time estimation shows 3 or 4 hours, but a single plate takes about 45 minutes to print.

This print is a simple, two part storage container to protect your earbuds' silicone tips. There are two sizes available: one that can hold 6 tips and one that can hold 8. The support pegs also have two sizes: a standard option and a thinner option. There's also two lid options: a flat one and an option with a series of hexagonal holes. You can even use your slicer to personalize your storage container - or organize your ever-growing TWS earbuds collection...

Settings

• 0.2mm layer height
• 2 walls
• 4 top/bottom layers
• ~15% infill
• Set bottom surface pattern to something nifty (see the Printing section below)
• No supports (unless you add raised text to the lid - see the Customization section below)
• Optional: If available in the Precision section of the Quality tab, Resolution should be set to 0.004

Printing

You'll need to print one body and one lid. Be sure that the body and lid match: eg. a 6 tip body will only fit the 6 tip lids.

There's two body sizes: 6 tips or 8 tips. The 6 tip container is about 61mm long, 44mm wide, and 15mm high. The 8 tip container is 79mm long, but all other dimensions are the same.

Each body size has two variants: one with standard sized support pegs and one with slightly thinner pegs. The standard size peg is meant to match your earbuds and holds the tips very securely - although they can be difficult to remove. The thinner peg makes removing the silicone tip easier, but the support pegs are more fragile. Due to printer variances, you may need to experiment with both peg variants.

For each size, there's two lids: a flat, closed option and one with hexagonal holes across the surface. The flat lid is a better option if you're planning on carrying this case around: it's stronger and stops pocket lint. But that hexagon one looks so cool!

The lids should be printed upside-down: the "top" of the case should be touching the build plate. If you're printing the flat lid, consider your bottom surface pattern: Archimedean Chords or Octagram Spiral look awesome! Additionally, if your slicer supports the option, enabling "Only one wall on first layer" looks great, but make sure you have excellent build plate adhesion.

Lastly, you can apply a different pattern to the lid using some slicer settings. If you set the lid's top and bottom layers to 0, the infill pattern will be visible. However, you will need to increase the infill percentage to add the necessary strength. PROTIP: Rotate the infill by changing the Infill direction in the Advanced section of the Strength tab.

Customization

If you're using Bambu Studio, you can add text to the lid and really personalize your storage case:

• If you're using debossed (stamped) text, you can print in a single color or apply a color layer change. Make sure the "top" of the lid is touching the build plate or else supports will be necessary.
• If you're using embossed (raised) text, you'll need to print the lid with the "top" facing away from the build plate - supports will be required here!
• If you're using a multi-color system (AMS, MMU, IDEX, etc.), you can place the text into the lid and print with the "top" touching the build plate. This looks awesome with text "embedded" in the hexagon lid, but beware of sharp edges on some letters.
