Pinecil Case (stores 4 tips, USB cables & solder)

A Multipart Pinecil Case remix that is a bit taller (+5.2mm) with a different set of cutouts and accessories allowing a full set of spare tips to be stored. The dimensions have been change to allow clearance for a 2nd tip mount which would interfere with the iron if not present.

This case can house:

• a Pinecil soldering iron with a tip installed
• 4 spare tips: allowing you to have a full set available in the case
• 2 spare M2 x 3mm screw
• a 2mm black mini screwdriver
• a silicon USB-C cable (compatible with the 1.5m cable sold by Pine64)

There is two variant of the top side of the case that houses the spare tips:

• top-with-reel: that includes space for a 3d printed reel of solder and a small accessory slot (such as a piece of de-soldering braid)
• top-no-reel: that has a single bigger accessory slot

Assembly

Depending on which variant you need, you will need to download and print every file in the “bottom" folder and every file in the folder matching your top variant (“top-with-reel” or “top-no-reel”).

For each side, you should fit the insert part into the cover part and make sure everything fit and is placed as shown on the picture (if not, you might have some clearance issue when the iron is inserted where the body of the iron will hit the partition wall of the tip storage). Once you have confirmed your placement, you can glue each cover with their respective insert.

With both side assembled, you should be able to align them and insert a length 1.75mm filament in the center holes to act as a hinge.

If you are building the “top-with-reel” variant, both side of the reel should snap fit together by the center shaft, this joint should be super-glued together. It can then be spun with your solder of choice and pressed into it's support in the top part of the case.

NOTE: the reel model is slightly different from the original TS100 Case reel it is based on, it was made to be a bit thicker (as we have more space) and all around more sturdy than the original. It was also made easier to assemble.

Printing

The model can be printed in any solid material you want such as PLA, PETG or ABS. All part should be printed flat side down with no support needed.
