Description
Many of the phone holders for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 either block the air vents or the screen. I designed this phone holder to slot into the unused space between the cup holders in the center console and keeps the phone in easy reach and vision of the driver without blocking anything.
In addition to the three 3d printed parts, you will also need:
PETG or ABS so that it can withstand hot summer days in a sealed car. PLA will deform in the summer
The part that goes into the cupholder is designed to be printed with the large flat surface down and will need minimal supports.
The arm is designed to be printed with the long flat side down and will also need supports.
The ball should be printed with the alignment pins facing up and may need supports depending on your printer.
The ball should be printed with a smaller layer height (0.1mm) and with at least 25% infill and 3 walls. I prefer gyroid for all my prints.
The other two parts can be printed between 0.2-0.3mm layer height. I recommend ≥15% infill.
You may want to add some sand as ballast if you take corners hard. Pause the print of the stand at about 70% and pour in some sand or other granular material. When the print is finished, that will settle to the bottom.
The center of mass when the phone is attached is higher than ideal. It is fine with the cup holders full, but if you don't have a bottle there and take a hard corner it can tip over.
All of the parts have alignment pins and holes so you can easily put them together.
