Puzzle Present #17 Print-in-Place

Gift Box #17

This is the print-in-place version of the thirteen gift box in a series of gift boxes that may all look the same on the outside but each has a different secret way of opening. I you would rather print the multi-part/color version, it can be found here. This box is a mashup between box #1 and #12. When you turn the bow on this box it rotates a gear pinion which moves in four gear racks retracting catches allowing the top of the box to be removed. A torsion spring in the center keeps the latches closed. This is the print in place version that prints in only two pieces with the bows attached.

Print Instructions

Its roughly 100mm x 100m x 80mm tall. The top and bottom print in place as one part with supports. Too much friction? Try PTFE Lubricate Spray(aff). This stuff is amazing and just a little bit will majorly help to smooth the motion.
