Large desiccant container (80x155mm) with basket weave walls with 2 perimeters

Design Objectives

I liked the idea of the basket weave desiccant containers, so this container is an iteration on that design.

1. Large capacity for big dry boxes. The container is 83mm (diameter) by 156mm (height) and can hold 500 grams  of dry silica gels.
2. Two perimeter walls. I found that single-perimeter walls with basket weave pattern are not strong enough. Two perimeters quadruples the area of contact between two weave stripes. This two perimeter container feels very strong.

Print Settings

Choose “nearest” seam position to minimize stringing.

You want to maximize layer adhesion. My choice of material was PETG, printed at the highest temperature in its temperature range, so that the weaves would stick well to each other.

Some overhangs will droop with PETG at high temperature, but that will look very organic in the weave pattern, and will not stand out at all.

I'm sure that PLA and other resins would work fine, too, just choose the one that you think forms the best layer adhesion and print it hot.

I printed with a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.2mm layer height.
