Description
I used an Antares Versus evo R5 saddle for about a year, but the saddle cushions eventually started to break. So I wanted to combine the saddle frame with new 3D printed pads.
You will need 5-10 bottom layers. Set perimeters and tops to zero and disable the infill anchors.
Now, choose your infill. There really is no right or wrong there but I did some test samples with different infill styles and found gyroids to work best. The infill density will impact the hardness of your saddle. If you have a softer material, 20-30% infill density might be just fine, for stiffer filaments I'd recommend less.
(In the pictures, you can see 20% gyroids printed with 68D TPU, but if I would do it again, I'd probably lower the density or use a softer material because the saddle is really quite hard)
I know how annoying support removal (especially with TPU) is, but I can't think of a better way to print this, so I used tree supports at the bottom.
These models work with the 139mm versions. If you are using a different size, you could take some measurements yourself and adjust the dimensions accordingly.
This should be compatible with all fizik Antares Versus evo saddles, but I am not able to verify that for each model.
Carefully peel of the damaged cushions. You can also use a dull knife to do so, but please make sure not to structurally damage the saddle.
Once you're done with that, you can glue on the printed parts using CA-glue or something similar.
