Description
Parametric Window Sill Plant Pot Holder / Shelf - Sill Extender
I wanted to put some pots on my window sill that were wider than the sill itself. This shelf creates an extension to the window sill that will support the pot. I designed this to be used by simply sitting it on the sill and the weight of the pot would keep it in place. However, depending on the size of your pot and the depth of your sill, you may need to use some velcro, command strips, or double stick tape to hold it in place.
The point of this model is for you to be able to enter the size of your pot and the dimensions of your window sill and the model will adjust (within reason).
If you don't have Fusion, I can upload individual examples if you provide your dimensions. The uploaded model is just the first one I needed to print.
Parameters to edit:
Pot_Size - The diameter of the pot. I would use the base of the pot, but if your pot has a large taper, use a larger number.
Sill_Depth - The distance from the edge of the sill to the window.
Sill_Thickness - The thickness of the window sill itself.
Sill_Overhang - Distance from the sill edge to the wall on the bottom side.
Printing:
I went pretty light: 10% cubic infill, 2 walls, 3 top and bottom layers. Scale up for heavier or larger pots.
