The PrusaWatch - Individually modifiable band/strap in for watches in TPU

As you can see, I decided to create a watch strap. There are many straps, so I wanted to design one that stands out from the rest. The result is the PrusaWatch strap.
I was inspired here by the hexagons of the Prusament and the Prusa Orange. The name came about accordingly.
The special thing about it is that you can modify the band according to your preferences:

  • changeable and different colored fixing
  • insert different colored hexagons in a pattern of your choice
  • positive/negative object

The whole thing is available in 2 versions. Depending on your watch, you can choose between a 20mm or 22mm strap. For all those who don't like my design, I have provided a relatively normal watch strap design. Also this one with 20mm and 22mm.

Modification

Closure

Because the clasp is tucked in, you can easily print it in different colors and materials to modify the band according to your ideas. I would recommend a slightly stronger material than TPU, preferably PLA or PETG, to ensure that the locking mechanism works.

To fix the attachment, it is best to place it on the table. Then you line up your band with the hole above the attachment and press the band down. Remember that the band must go to the bottom level. Depending on what material you have used, you may have to use more or less force.

Hexagons

With the help of the hexagons you can design the clock individually. I recommend printing this out of a slightly harder material like PLA or PETG. Just print a few of them and design your watch yourself. Plays with colors and different materials. Let your ideas run free. Use different patterns as you insert the hexagons. With the following pictures I show you a few suggestions.

To attach the hexagons, it is best to place them on the table. Then align your band over the hexagon and press the band down. Depending on what material you have used, you may have to use more or less force.

Positive & Negative Objects

The function “negative objects” is new in the slicer. You can use this function to customize the normal watch strap for you. You can simply mill names, shapes or logos into the object. On the other hand, you can of course also add objects and place them on the bracelet. Do a make and show me your implementation.

Fixing:

normal watch

Remove the old strap and keep the included pin. Now insert the pin into the free space of the printed watch band. Now compress the springs and insert the strap into the watch.

iWatch

If you plan to equip your iWatch with this band, you can order the following adapter. I myself have made numerous attempts to print a holder for the iWatch from TPU, but I was never satisfied with the result to upload it here without hesitation. The risk that the strap would not hold properly and the watch would fall off at the end was always too great for me..
