Description
The world has a new Pope, Leo XIV, and on this occasion, MiniWorld3D is bringing a major landmark of Rome and the world to our library. This entry is a highly-detailed model of St Peter's Square and Basilica, which can be printed in larger scales or with resin with stunning results.
Construction of the present masterpiece of Italian High Renaissance and UNESCO World Heritage site began on 18 April 1506 and was completed on 18 November 1626. Many different architects and artists participated, including Bramante, Michelangelo, Maderno and Bernini. It replaced an older basilica from the 4th century built by Constantine the Great.
It is the largest church in the world by interior measure and one of the holiest in Catholicism, although it is not a cathedral. It's importance lies in the tradition of St. Peter, one of Jesus' apostles and the first Pope, being buried in the site.
Some architectural features:
IN HONOREM PRINCIPIS APOST PAVLVS V BVRGHESIVS ROMANVS PONT MAX AN MDCXII PONT VII
(In honour of the Prince of Apostles, Paul V Borghese, a Roman, Supreme Pontiff, in the year 1612, the seventh of his pontificate)
(from Wikipedia).
This model was made by Dany Sánchez.

You can print it all at once without supports, the arches and column roofs support themselves.
You can pause and change color or use MMU/AMS for colorful results. Faces are easy to click and paint.
No rafts or brims needed, but you can add one if you experience warping.
Infill: 15%, lightning pattern ok.
Paint-on fuzzy skin on certain faces for enhanced details and texture simulation, see one of the images attached.
Assembly is straight-forward, there is only one way that pieces fit together. Glue is necessary for a permanent fix.
All parts have been scaled to fit a standard print bed volume. You can scale up or down as needed.
