Description
2x M3x12mm Button Head Screws
FOXRacing used to ( or perhaps still does? ) sell purpose made Front Fork Fenders that would match the geometry of the Bridge connecting the Lowers - Just not for the Size / Model I had so for the longest time I've been using a cheap mudflap.
Now owning a 3D Scanner I was finally able to make a formfitting Model that would match the complex Geometry of my Fork and with the help of some vintage Filamentum 98A TPU I still had lying around 🤣
TPU as the Material - Everything else will most likely shatter / tear off at the slightest inconvenience
0.6mm Nozzle
100% Line Width
0.3mm Layer Height
3x Perimeters
20% Infill
3mm³/s Volumetric Speed
High Part Cooling ( 80% on CPAP )
Avoid Crossing Walls ( to reduce Stringing ):
The Model comes pre-aligned and with built in Supports ( marked in blue ) to print the Model at an somewhat printable Angle which will later have to be cut off using Side Cutters and / or a Knife:
After some failed attempts due to the edges on the side Flaps near the Build Plate either curling up or down I found that printing with a 0.3mm Layer Height ( instead of the default 0.2mm or lower 0.1mm ) would finally get me somewhere.
Also don't forget to adjust the Tension of your Extruder to improve the grip onto the TPU.
Installation is done via two M3x12 Button Head Screws that go into the roughly 40mm spaced apart Holes in the Back of the Fork Bridge ( consider either using low / med strength Loctite or Nail Polish to secure them ):
