OPEN SCAD 3D PRINTED FRET SLOTTING TEMPLATE GENERATOR

This template generator can generate fret slotting templates for cutting fretboards for stringed instruments (guitars and basses mainly I guess). It is entirely parametric so it means within the confines of what has been programmed it will make any size or scale length of template.

I designed it for use with my fret slotting mitre box

But it will work with any slotting mitre box or saw, and will allow you to export stl files for 3d printing, dxf files for laser cutting.

I guess you could use the output for milling as well if you are ok using an stl file or similar as input (although I think FreeCAD can render openscad files – I’m not 100% sure about that).
You can build on the template if you wish and as I probably couldn’t stop you anyway feel free to use it for commercial purposes if it pleases you to do so – but note I’ve licenced this CC – attribution and share alike, so if you make any mods properly credit and ensure the end product is shared alike, you can read what that means here.

The stl file and dxf in the listing are for example only and the intention is that you generate your own.
