HeartSnaps: The “Kissing" Magnetic Fidget & Utility Clip

HeartSnaps are flexible TPU clips that use magnetism to bundle your cables, hold notes on the fridge, seal snack bags, and hold things together. Designed with TPU in mind for the hinge, the two hearts snap together with a tactile “kiss” that makes them an addictive and useful fidget toy you won’t want to put down.  This parametric design is provided as a customizable Fusion360 file so you can tune whatever aspect you like of the design.

Sizes & Compatibility

I have included pre-generated files for the most common round magnets that will work well found on Amazon and AliExpress and Makerworld. Files are provided for 2 mm or 3 mm thick magnets in the following diameters: 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm.  If you have a different size magnet, the included Fusion 360 (.f3d) file is fully parametric. Just open the parameters window, type in your diameter, and the model updates automatically.  Certain changes may require additional tweaks as the model is not fully constrained.

Print Settings

• Material: standard TPU 90-95A is required. PLA or PETG will snap at the hinge immediately and are not applicable here.

• Walls: Use 3 to 4 Wall Loops

• Infill: 15% Gyroid (or similar).

• Supports: None. Prints flat.

Assembly Instructions

• Glue is Recommended: While the fit is tight, flexible TPU can stretch over time. I highly recommend putting a single drop of super glue (CA glue) in the pocket before inserting the magnet.

• Check Polarity: This is the most important step. Before gluing the second magnet, let it snap to the first one to find the correct orientation on the opposite side. Glue it in the proper direction so they attract, not repel.
