Description
Many such crabs exist already, but I wanted to create my own version. This one is a bit smaller and leaner than most.
To avoid supports, the crab is printed in two parts that need to be glued together (with a connection piece for good alignment). The print file contains all the parts in the correct orientation.
There is also a Multi-Color Version available for people who have an AMS, MMU or similar. I have modeled the body, legs, arms, eyes and mouth individually so they can be selected easily without the need for painting.
Print instructions
The crab prints quite well. But good bed adhesion is required for the small details on the first layer. What works well for me is to wash the build-plate first with warm water and dishwasher soap.
Make sure the small sections of the arms and legs are not printed too fast, so the material has enough time to cool down before the next layer starts. In Prusa Slicer, under Cooling thresholds I set the value to slow down if layer print time is below 20 seconds.
There is a similar Setting in Bambu Studio under Filament Settings -> Cooling where one could lower the min. print speed (might not be necessary, I haven’t tested it).
