📜 Barnaby the Crocodile: Myths vs. Reality

While our Barnaby looks like he stepped straight out of an animated fairy tale, his real-life relatives are quite impressive:

• Appearance and Skin: Real crocodiles have hard, scaly skin that acts like armor. Our Barnaby features cute rounded bumps on his back and tail that look fantastic under light.

• Eyes Like Radars: Crocodiles have slit pupils for perfect night vision. Barnaby’s eyes are intentionally oversized and stylized, giving him a deep, curious, and slightly wide-eyed look.

• Predator vs. Couch Potato: While real crocodiles spend their time hunting in rivers and swamps, Barnaby is happiest sitting quietly on your shelf – in any filament color you choose!

🔍 Model Features

• Hypnotic Layered Eyes: The standout feature of this model. They are designed to consist of several separately printed parts. This creates beautiful depth and a professional multi-color look without needing systems like AMS or MMU.

• Adorable Details: Short front and back paws, a wide smile, and raised nostrils give the model a unique character.

• Stable Stance: Thanks to his sitting position and wide, solid tail for support, Barnaby is perfectly stable and won't tip over.

• Model Height: 10 cm (at 100% scale, can be easily resized in your slicer).

🖨 Print Settings & Recommendations (Tested in Practice)

The model is designed for easy printing and great visual results:

• Layer Height: 0.16 mm (ideal for capturing all the fine details on the back and for smooth transitions on the head).

• Infill: 8% gyroid (provides plenty of strength while saving time and material).

• Supports: Required for overhangs (under the chin/mouth, and optionally under the front paws and ears). I recommend Organic (Tree) supports for easy removal and a cleaner surface finish.

• Surface Effect (Fuzzy skin): If you want to achieve a "plush" or suede look, try these settings: distance 0.3 mm / thickness 0.1 mm.

🛠 Assembly Instructions

Assembling Barnaby is very quick and simple:

1. Body: Print the Barnaby body (prints as one solid piece in your favorite color).

2. Eyes: Print the individual eye parts (iris, pupil, and highlights).

3. Assembly: Insert the individual colored eye parts into each other and secure them with a small drop of superglue. Then, simply glue the finished eyes into the prepared sockets in the head.
