Omni Press (Drill Press & Heated Insert Press)

I wanted a drill press for my Dremel, as well as a dedicated press for installing heat-set inserts with my soldering iron. Since there are already many great standalone designs for both, I decided to combine these functions into a single, versatile tool.

This press features a quick-lock system that allows you to easily swap between different tools in seconds. Whether you're drilling or working with heat-set inserts, the transition is fast and hassle-free.

I’ve included design references so you can create your own tool holders. You can adapt the system to fit other tools and expand its functionality. If you do create your own attachments, feel free to share them with others! I will try my best, to keep the description updated and link all available tools.

Note: Good bed adhesion is critical for this model, as even slight warping can significantly affect tolerances. Make sure your print bed is clean, and use a brim if you experience adhesion issues.

You can also look for parts in your local hardware-store. For small quantities, they are usually way cheaper.

I harvested most parts from my old Anet A8 3D-Printer. Sometimes you can pick one up used for a very low price. You just have to cut the rods to the right length and buy the aluminum profile (or harvest from an Ender 3).
