Description
This customizable holder makes disposable cups safer to handle - fewer spills, more stability and comfort to hold, and also works as a way to signal whose cup is that: print each one in a different color for the whole family / team, so everybody has its own holder with cups being replaced on a daily basis. Less waste, too!
I designed this actually for painting - I got tired of cleaning the cup I used for painting, and decided to use some disposable cups I already had at home, but that felt really cheap and unstable to hold water for cleaning the brushes. So I thought of creating a parametric design that works as a sort of exoskeleton for disposables.
I used spreadsheets on FreeCAD, so you can edit the values to create holders of virtually any size.
Because plastic cups don't really have standard sizes, the best thing is to get the source FreeCAD file and generate a custom STL for your cup. I added some sample sizes based on what I found in this website, but the cup I had as example at home was already a different size (also included that one in the downloads).
Printed at 0.20mm (speed), 25% infill. PLA or PETG both work well. No brim needed.
