Description
This remix modifies the design for use with the Happymodel ES24TX Pro 1W ELRS module. The original version of this case was designed for the older non "Pro" 1W version.
This is designed to replace the original main body of the module to better fit in a FlySky Nirvana NV14 remote. It also adds a small 4x2mm cutout for an external power connector due to the NV14's problematic JR Bay voltage regulation, more info below. This case improves the fitment of the module in the loose-fitting NV14 JR Bay. The full list of changes compared to the original can be found in the "Differences of the remix compared to the original" section below.
For printing, I recommend using support enforcers for the pin opening area on the bottom and the top latches on the sides. Refer to the slicer image above.
If you choose to externally power the ES24TX Pro 1W module, you will need to make sure the module does not receive power from the NV14 remote by disconnecting the center pin of the JR Bay connector. The easiest way to do this is to cover the center pin of the NV14 pin header adapter with Kapton/polyamide or similiar insulating tape. An example of this can be seen in the photos above.
Additionally, if you choose to solder wires to the pin header connector inside, you will need to trim a slot in the original pin header spacer that came with the module. This can be seen in the photos above as well.
The stock NV14 has multiple hardware problems that make the rear JR Bay practically useless. You can alleviate most of these issues by following the fantastic "NV14 Power & Bay Mod" guide by Stefan73 et al. However, I've gone ahead and made an improved and updated version of the guide, which can be found here: NV14 Power & Bay Mod - V2
Following this guide will fix most issues, but nonetheless, the power supply to the JR bay can only provide ~3W of power, which is not enough for the ES24TX Pro 1W, which can draw up to ~6.5W on its max 1W output power. Thus, there is a need to externally power the module. For more information on these hardware mods and modernizing the NV14 in general, check out my Reddit post here.
