Description

🇯🇵 東京へようこそ!

Welcome to Tokyo!

This model was originally created by Dany Sánchez.

Shibuya Scramble Crossing (渋谷スクランブル交差点, Shibuya sukuranburu kōsaten) is located near Shibuya Station, in a major commercial and entertainment district in Tokyo. It has been described as the world's busiest pedestrian crossing, with as many as 3,000 people crossing during a single green light cycle. Inaugurated in 1973, the intersection is a popular tourist destination and a widely recognized symbol of the city of Tokyo through its frequent appearances in television, film, and other media. (from Wikipedia).

Some recognizable features in this model are Hachiko statue and square, Shibuya Station JR main entrance, Tokyu department store, Tsutaya building, Magnet building, among others!

MiniWorld3D is happy to bring this model to life as a homage to all the people of Tokyo. Please give credit, it's all about spreading culture and education!

Photo credits: real location photo and print photos by Dany Sánchez. Printed in a Prusa MK4 with Amolen concrete grey for the roads, then Prusament pristine white PLA for the road markings, SpiderMaker matte PLA frosted almond for the sidewalks and finally concrete grey for the buildings. Painted by hand with acrylic markers  and decals printed in A4 bond paper from provided PDF.

Print Instructions

Suggested parameters:

No supports.

Mouse ears included in the model to avoid warping.
Perimeters: 2
Top layers: 3
Infill: as low as 15%, lightning pattern

Even without mulitmaterial capabilities, this can easily be done in some colors by pausing and changing filament color at certain heights. To do this, start with dark grey for the street asphalt, then white for the street markings, then beige or light grey for sidewalks, lastly grey for buildings.

With multimaterial capabilities, you can go crazy but it may add too many hours of printing time.

An included PDF can be printed on A4 paper so you can use the decals I created, or the blank template to create your own, where you can choose which advertisements to use.  After printing, you can cut and then glue to your model.
