Description
The rear speakers on this car are in constant heat and UV exposure, so the grills become brittle and can break easily. Couldn't find this exact grill online (for a Hyundai Accent from 2000) and I had to model them myself.
It's fairly easy to print, no supports needed. I printed them with 0.4mm nozzle, 0.25mm layer height and 3 perimeters from ABS and spray-painted it.
ASA, ABS, Nylon, PETG or PETG-CF should work, but I don't recommend PLA, because the grill is thin and it will probably warp from the sun very soon in moderate and warm climates.
Optional: Unless printed with ASA, spray paint could help protecting the grill a bit from UV exposure and keep the grill stronger throughout the years.
Once you've printed the grill and the base, in your slicer you can right click the models and Mirror by X-axis to print the other side.
You need 4 nuts and bolts, standard metric M4x10mm to tighten the base to the trunk cover.
There are pockets on the sides of the 4 larger cylinders on the base, which are made to friction-fit the nuts. This provides you with a thread for mounting the base to the trunk cover with the M4x10 screws.
To attach the grill part to the base part you can:
Either use glue like cyanoacrylate (superglue) or something that'll handle heat and vibrations better like two-part epoxy glue.
OR Use 4 standard metric M3x10mm/M3x8mm/M3x6mm countersink screws
OR Both glue and screws
The holes for mounting the base to the car are distanced ~125mm from one another and the large hole for the speaker is ~150mm in diameter
