Articulated arm adapter for car vent phone mount

Turn almost any articulating arm into a convenient phone holder using an inexpensive car air vent phone mount.

This adapter allows you to attach a standard car vent phone holder to articulating arms, desk-mounted microphone arms or other adjustable mounts. It's a simple and affordable solution for recording overhead or static videos, reading from your phone, video calls, live streaming, or simply keeping your phone within easy reach while working.

Instead of buying an expensive dedicated phone arm, you can reuse a cheap car phone holder and combine it with equipment you may already own.

The rotating joint provides smooth movement while remaining secure thanks to a small amount of lubricant and PETG working with PLA.

🔩 Required Hardware

• 1× car air vent phone holder (any inexpensive model)

• 2× M3 or M2.5 screws

• Screw length: 10 - 18 mm

• A small amount of grease or vaseline for smooth rotation

🛠 Assembly

1. Print using provided print profile, or using STLs (split Moving part.stl into objects in your slicer but don't move, then select one object as petg and other as PLA then print in place, “Mount.stl” print in filament of your choose)

2. Apply a small amount of grease inside the hole at the rounded part.

3. Secure moving part and mount together with two M3 or M2.5 screws.

4. Attach your favorite car vent phone holder.

You're ready to record, read, or work hands-free.

• Material: PLA and PETG (You can use of course only one type of filament, but it could not spin freely)

• Layer height: 0.2 mm

• Infill: 50-60%

• Supports: None
