Description

This is my version of the War Rocket Ajax from the 80's classic Flash Gordon movie!

She's about 500mm long built, is mostly hollow and can be lit.

There are a number of construction options depending on the size of your printer, a 200mm printer will do it, but there are options for parts to print on a 400mm printer as well. The biggest variant is the main body, which can be printed a few different ways.

There are also a couple of option parts if you intend to light it, for example the chin has an option for a part with LED mounts.

The instructions and more info can be found here: http://members.iinet.net.au/~canison/Ajax/WarRocketAjaxInstructions.pdf

The instruction images can be downloaded seperately if you prefer here. Some people have said they like to flick between them in a photo viewer to easily see where parts go. http://members.iinet.net.au/~canison/Ajax/InstructionImages.zip

It can be printed completely on an FDM printer, but some parts will benefit from a resin printer if you have one, for example the guns on the wings, or the hemispherical turret. The wings and the guns have channels designed in to run some fibre optics to the guns if you choose.

Even if you're not going to light it, you will need a 5mm red led, and a 3mm red led for the front and rear of the tail fin. The ship has rounded shapes in those spots and leds will give the best result. There are holes and channels for wiring in various parts if you plan to light it.

You'll need a couple of small pieces of styrene of brass rods for a couple of the guns too.

Be sure to read the instruction pdf, and if there are any problems message me and i'll do what i can for you!

I do have some other models available that arent here on thingiverse, swing pat my facebook group to check them out. :)

Feel free to leave a tip if you like my models!
