Description

The First Order Light Cruiser can often be seen docked at the nose of First Order Star Destroyers. It is 211,2m long, has four turrets and can carry 24 Tie Fighters and 1 Shuttle.

UPDATE: Added 1:500 Scale Version

Appearances in Star Wars media

The most prominent appearance of a First Order Light Cruiser is the Enshado from Issues #14-#19 of the Poe Dameron Comic. It also appeared in one later issue of the same comic. This model is based on these appearances.

As far as I know, this ship does not have a proper name (yet). It could be a Dissident-class Light Cruiser, which were mentioned in a short story about Poe Dameron in Before the Awakening.

This Model

The 1:500 version is 422mm long, 422mm wide and 60mm tall. The final photo of this version shows it alongside a CR90 Corvette at the same scale.

The 1:2000 version is 105.7mm long, 38.2mm wide and 15mm tall. The final photo of this version shows it alongside a CR90 and an Arquitens Light Cruiser at the same scale.

There are two ways to tell which side is up.

  • At the bow, there is a wide bar sticking out underneath the bridge windows.
  • The diagonal beams along the side are closer to the aft at the bottom and to the bow at the top.

Apart from that and the bridge windows themselves, the model is perfectly symmetrical.

Regarding the stand for the 1:500 version with name: I've put “Dissident-class Light Cruiser” on it, but it is possible that a Dissident-class Light Cruiser is an entirely different ship. Also I've used the logo of Kuat Drive Yards for the manufacturer. Kuat-Entralla Engineering is the true manufacturer of this ship, but I don't know what its logo looks like, so I've used its predecessor, Kuat Drive Yards.

Print Instructions

1:2000

Printed at 0.15mm layer height. Needs supports. I recommend using a small raft.

The model is rotated with the bridge facing down and the engines pointing up to reduce supports and overhangs.

1:500

The model is split into several parts for printing. All of them were printed at 0.2mm layer height.

This render shows how the model fits onto the stand (note that the taller part of the stand connects at the aft and the shorter one at the bow)
