Description

I needed to be able to mount a wireless Polycom on the wall between two meeting/conference rooms. That way if people need to use it they don't have to interrupt the meeting next door to borrow the Polycom. It would also saved us about $650 because we could share two Polycoms between three meeting rooms instead of buying three.

The Polycom comes with three holes on the back for the purpose of wall hanging. However these are more intended for a permanent mount. They would be difficult to remove and replace the Polycom several times a day.

I found these two options for Polycom wall mounts. They are essentially the same idea.

I Printed and tried to use these Polycom wall mounts but they didn't work well for me. The way they are designed you really need to use three of them to secure all three feet to the wall. Other wise the back leg (that is on top in the photos) will lean out from the wall about 2-3 inches like it is about to fall off. You can see in the photos on this one (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2591955) that they use a pad of sticky notes as a spacer under the button pad to keep that from happening. Well i didn't want to use three feet to permanently mount this to the wall. And I couldn't accept the way it kept leaning forward. So I had to make my own.

My design turns the Polycom so it hangs with the front facing up instead of down. It makes it very easy to remove and replace the Polycom.

I thought about adding a clip to hold the charge cord but I decided against it because a person may pull all the slack and snag the cord. It is better to have the extra slack in the wire just dangle down.

My design files are publicly available on on OnShape.com. Feel free to clone it and make changes if you like.
