Description
We all love a pristine, 3D-printed object. Most often, the journey to get to that final result is a pile of printed rejects… Life is a journey- not a destination, so we wanted to celebrate these behind the scene epic failures:
We wanted to focus on these rejected, half-rate citizen parts in order to help others with their 3D printing experience. 3DPPGH announced the “Crappy Print Award” at MRRF 2018, and they have been awarding epic print failures ever since. Prizes vary from year to year- sometimes epic and sometimes crappy... Let’s be honest, this is about bragging rights and the trophy that you will prominently take back to your hometown (which is also now available for anyone else to download, print, and claim victory)!
The trophy topper was a direct print of DrLex’s Poop Emoji (https://www.printables.com/model/252625-pile-of-poo-emoji-u1f4a9). You can link straight there and download the necessary files. I made no additional modifications to that item.
The trophy pillar was a remix of liquidlogic's Gloomhaven Pillar (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2795712). I included a remixed file which was simply resized.
The base was modeled in Sketchup 2017, and three plates were modeled for the MRRF2018 event. I did include a blank plate in the Sketchup file to be modified with your own text. I left a square cutout in the base in order to use hot glue to hold the base to the pillar; however, this was not required.
Like a fine wine, these filament pieces have been aging beautifully in a non-environmentally controlled, non-biodegradable fast food container. Don’t let the desiccant fool you. I found that bad boy on the road and am passing the value onto you. We went the extra mile and did not even separate the ABS, PETG, and PLA for you so it will be more of a Russian Roulette game as to whether you will clog your nozzle due to an incorrect extruder temperature if you ever decide to use them!
Personally, 3 PWM-controlled seems like overkill, so we are offering you only 2. This awesome board used to go to 11 until a screwdriver initiated a glorious, magic-smoke-filled short while the poor MendelMax was powered up. We customized this one-of-a-kind with a red “X” in red Sharpie- You’re Welcome!
Straight from Ebay via seller that claims to be in the US, we love that this beauty will go from full extrusion to clog in 16.2 seconds. All metal? No idea! It is guaranteed to keep you up until 3AM trying to diagnose the fact that you should have purchased the authentic E3D component.
