Presenting the rocket ship from Myst!
Although I labeled this (for attribution purposes) as a remix of the rocket published by Cyan_Inc, I've actually remodeled it from scratch specifically for 3D printing. The rocket prints without supports in three pieces which are then glued together. I based my design almost exclusively on pictures from Myst Masterpiece, and tried to make it as accurate as possible. Enjoy!
Notes:
- Since I don't know the actual dimensions of the original rocket, this one wasn't modeled to any particular scale(e.g. 1:32, 1:48, 1:72 etc.), but I estimate that it is probably about 1:60. The assembled model(at 100% scale) is just under 13 inches long.
- The one intentional design change I made was to leave off the socket on the back of the rocket where the power lines enter. Although this appears both on Myst island and in Selenitic age, I didn't feel that it was appropriate for a stand alone model. It also does not appear on the miniature rocket found elsewhere in the game (although it's worth noting that only the right side of that rocket is visible).
- At 100% scale, the tolerance between the parts is about one hundredth of an inch(~0.3 mm).
