Space blankets reflect IR (heat) but still be a bit translucent (1-8%) - so they are great for heat shields or shades - and they weight near nothing.

 UV-B protection is >99% ⇒ perfect sunscreen.

you can make 6 + 12 = 18 (+center) tiles to build a JWST mirror Sunblocker

(btw: the JWST uses multi layer space blankets as sun shield too while the mirrors are made from gold plated beryllium)

Using 20cm skewer will make a 40cm tile the JWST config would be 8×20cm in diameter=1.6×1.75meter! Maybe using just 10-15cm skewer for this.

or just use 7 Tiles with 30cm skewer for 1.5meter (1meter with 20cm skewer).

Which is about the size of just one original JWST Hex mirror.

Use the c-clips to tighten the space blanked around the hexagon frame.

 Per Tile

• 6×skewers ∅3mm length: 10-30cm
• 6×connector (glue-on or push-in version)
• 18-24×clips (3-4 per side) (for easy printing they come with a brim in a 6-pack)

Making

1.  assemble a hex Tile
2. Put on a space blanket
3. cut with 2cm extra around
4. put clips over the foil onto the skewer (you can put glue on the skewers if you want to remove the clips later)
5. cut away the surplus
6. mounting Tiles together 

Mounting Tiles

• You can connect either a string to hang the tiles, piece filament can be used to jam the thread. 
• Use the tile connector - 1 or 2 per side (12 for a 7 Tile mirror) to connect the tiles.
• Use the BaseClip with adhesive for a surface like top of a monitor or window frame.
