Description

If you love 1/32 slot cars, you might have a Fly racing truck in your paddock. If so, then you also know that, if you go into a turn too fast and spin out, it can rotate WAY beyond the normal amount, even do a 360, which is NOT GOOD for the wiring. Usually, though, it gets stuck somewhere between 90 and 180 degrees, and the race must be momentarily stopped to fix it. This happens because the chassis is so high off the track that the normal guide stoppers are too high to stop the guide from rotating too much.

This shim fills the open space under the chassis, above the guide, stopping over rotation during a spin out. Use the shim that gives you the vertical movement you want while still being able to stop over rotation. For my trucks, the 5mm works best. Some trucks might need a different size. If you want something in between the offered sizes, pick the one that is closest to the size needed, and scale it on the Z axis (not XY!) to meet your spec. Then just glue in place! Depending on your printer, some reaming and/or filing might be needed, so be sure to test fit everything and make any adjustments before gluing it in.

This can also serve as a repair for broken guide holders in said trucks.

Thanks go to Roger “RamJet” Fossum from my slot car club, EMSA, for the original concept and design that he made with more traditional “one at a time” methods.
