Exhaust Vent Cover Flaps

These two parts are designed to fit the smaller and larger exhaust vents on the exterior of my home. The goal is simply to mimic the dimensions of the stock flaps that came with the house and replace faulty ones.

Also see https://www.printables.com/model/265290-exhaust-vent-mesh-covers for exhaust vent mesh covers that match these vents.

Key Dimensions

See the photos section for a sketch of the two parts including their dimensions in millimeters.

Note: I've added “Thinner” variants of both flaps which set the thickness to 2 mm. I felt the measured copies (which had thickness between ~3.2 and ~3.6 mm depending on the flap) were too thick, and it made them too rigid to remove easily. This 2 mm variant may also be able to be thinned but for now I'm going with this given the standard 2 mm wall thickness rule of thumb.

Printing Advice

I printed this with the 0.15 mm layer height Quality preset and with ABS filament. I don't have an enclosure, but for these thin parts I didn't suffer any warping or other issues. I did use Nano Polymer Adhesive to prevent damage to the PEI steel sheet print bed when I peeled the print off. I chose ABS due to temperature and general weather resilience (one of my vents is the dryer exhaust vent). I also found it to be very flexible yet durable on this thin part.
