Description
This is an open source Filament Runout Encoder which detects filament jams in addition to filament runout. You only need a few parts for this project most of which can be found in your shop already. IMPORTANT NOTE: PLA is IR transparent depending on the color you use. If you find your encoder is not working, try printing with a different type of filament that is not transparent for IR. (Yeah I didn't believe it either but IR goes right through some PLA, google it and you'll be surprised as well).
You can watch the video on how to assemble it here: https://youtu.be/v2mQ4X1J3cs
