Description
This is a hook-shaped boomerang. The hook shape makes for a nice, long range. Expect something like 40-50 meters.
A video of this boomerang in flight can be found here: https://youtu.be/84ndHafSrv4
Best printed with lots of perimeters and solid top and bottom layers (about 6 sounds good).
Make sure the print is flat when you get it off the build plate. Better still, the wing tips should be slightly raised off of the table if you put it down flat (1 mm is plenty).
The slight undercut near the elbow is essential when the boomerang has a tendency to dive into the ground two-thirds into the flight. It will add some extra lift in the right spot to prevent that.
It is impossible to print cleanly, unfortunately. I usually have to file or sand back the supports to clean up the undercut.
