Description
The Soma Cube is a timeless geometric puzzle consisting of seven polycubes. These can be assembled into a 3×3×3 cube as well as numerous other three-dimensional shapes.
This version features an optimized sliding-lid box with an integrated snap-in mechanism for secure and convenient storage.
The puzzle promotes spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills and is suitable for children aged 10 and up.
The exact settings are not critical; you can use your preferred standard profile. The external dimensions of the box are 55 × 55 × 54 mm.
I printed the puzzle with the following settings:
Material: PLA
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Infill: 15%
No supports
No raft, no brim
Lid Fit: If the printed lid jams or is too tight, reprint it with its width reduced by 0.2 mm in your slicer.
Snap-In Mechanism: If the lid is too hard to close, simply file or sand it down slightly using a nail file or sandpaper until it clicks in smoothly. If the snap-in mechanism is not tight enough, you can reprint the lid 0.2 mm wider.
Online Solver: If you get stuck or want to create your own shapes, you can use the web app: Soma Online Solver (No download required).
