Chevy Chase Christmas Vacation Advent House

This is a model of the Advent House from Chevy Chase’s movie Christmas Vacation. It was only used in a couple of scenes, where opening the windows was used to mark the passage of time in the movie.

The body of the main house can be 3D Printed, or made out of wood and hardboard. The skylight, windows, front door, roof trim, and other accessories are 3D printed in either case. If the house is made out of hardboard and wood, then some woodworking tools will be required to make it. DXF files are included so the hardboard (or 1/8 inch thick plywood) parts can be laser cut. And PDFs of the wood parts are included, which can be printed to size and used as templates to cut out the parts.

Major update!

Changes:

- Modified the Wall and Roof STL files to allow the roof to be held on with magnets.

- Fixed some STLs that were not correct.

- Added Deep windows, so candy or small gifts can be placed in a window.

Updated the Build Notes to:

- Add construction instructions for all the changes above.

- Include the Numbers.STL documentation.

- Include the instructions for creating a 3D printed house, rather than making it out of hardboard. So now it can be built without needing woodworking tools.

- Updated STL File lists to include all the current STL files.
