Description
I wanted a unique Christmas Tree topper to go on top of my little tree that I had bought this year. I was surprised when I couldn't find a Hotend tree topper when searching around, so I decided to make one myself.
I think it turned out great, and the visual of the topper “printing” my tree was exactly what I was hoping for.
The top of the tree couldn't really support the full weight of the Hotend so I went and bought a small metal dowel at my local hardware store and zip-tied it to the top half of my tree to provide extra stability.
I played around with trying to wrap a garland around an empty filament spool and inserting the end into the top to complete the effect but after 3 trips to the store for 4 different types of garlands I couldn't really get it to look right. Maybe someone else will have better luck than I did.
