Strap pad for fabric glue-on with counter plate

Application

I needed these pads to strap down my motorbike seat-cover with the common one-inch straps. Sewing on an eyelet would have been an option of course. But with the fabric being rather thin and the strapping forces being rather high, I was afraid I would rip the fabric. The glued-on pads create a much bigger surface area on the fabric that the force is being applied to.

Mounting

The trick that connects this strap pad to the fabric so strongly is the counter plate, that is glued on from the inside. I use gel superglue, which soaks through the factric from both sides. So you end up with to pieces of plastic on each side of the fabric and a superglue-fabric-compound that reaches completely through. 

Be aware that you will have no chance of ever removing the pad from the fabric without completely destroying everything.
