Do you love Jessie PLA?
Damn right you do! It's a miracle of modern filament production!
It only had one problem... The filament spools kept poking holes in my vacuum bags... Well, not anymore!
Tired of getting holes in your vacuum bags? Sick of trying to find two different sized end-pieces for your spool holder?
Ever thought to yourself:
“Hey self, I sure wish I could tell what color filament I have over there from the side of the spool!”
“Hey that’s a good point also-self, what a conundrum!”
Well, set your frustrations aside, my friends! The answer to your prayers is here. Print these out and you can rest easy at night knowing you no longer have to worry about poking holes in your vacuum bags!
Plus! As an added bonus! If you print them with the actual filament you are protecting, you'll have the extra deluxe feature (at no additional charge) of a color swatch of your filament on each side of the spool!
I give you The Jessie Filament Spool Fixer!
You know, for spools! 💥 🤯 💡 ⭕️
(These are specifically designed to fit in and correct the sharp edges on Printed Solid's Jessie Filament spools as well as to give the spool a uniform axle size on both sides to make it more compatible with the gravity spool rewinder (and similar axle, held spool holders).
There are five models, though for the best protection, you only need to print two: the “Small Side Fixer” and the “Big Side Fixer”
The “Plugs” (cut and uncut) are provided for a less foolproof level of protection but require less time and filament - if you aren’t especially worried about pulling a hard vacuum on you filament bag, and don’t need a consistent inner axle size, these should be fine.
The “Big Side Donut” is simply to correct the two sizes of axle holes but offers little protection against tears in your vacuum bags. But again, if this is all you need it for, go for it!
To Print:
Minimal perimeters and minimal infill (I use 3 bottom, 3 top, and 2 sides with an infill of 10% Gyroid)
0.4 Nozzle at .2 layer height (or whatever your go-to for standard printing is).
