Paper Boat

As someone that likes to draw things in CAD, I often find myself looking for new projects to work on. However, sometimes it can be difficult to find the right starting point or inspiration. Recently, I found myself in the situation of having an idea but struggled to find a good starting point. I decided to embark on a quick and simple project to distract myself.

For this project, I decided to create a 3D model of a paper boat. I started by quickly folding one out of a A4 paper and took some basic measurements. Than I was sketching out some ideas and concepts in Fusion 360 to find the right look and way to implement it. Things do change if your material isn't thin like paper anymore. I wanted to create something that was both easy to print and aesthetically pleasing.

Overall, this 3D design project provided a welcome distraction from other tasks. I hope this one helped me for the other. If not I have now ideas for other little projects based on this one. I call it a win.
