8 x 6" hobby / component box with removable tray (multiple configurations) and latching hinged lid - non-spill design

A handy component storage / hobby box with a hinged lid and clasps to keep it shut. Featuring a removable tray which when in place and the lid closed, prevents spillage of items between compartments (as long as the items are bigger than 1mm) see the Fusion360 cutaway picture for a cross-section view of a closed case.

Several configurations/models of both the case and the removable tray are provided. The lid of the case has a recess on the top to allow for stacking.

You will need to supply 8x 40mm 2.4mm diameter pins for the hinges/clasps, I used a 2.4mm Steel TIG welding rod cut with side-cutters, and I drilled out the hinges & Clasps with a 2.5mm drill bit to provide a little clearance. I drilled out the holes in the lid and case with a 2.4mm drill bit just so they would grip the TIG rod pieces. If you can't get any 2.4mm TIG welding rods, you could use M2.5 threaded rod, it should work too.

I printed all these in PETG, at 0.24mm layer height with 15% infil. The cases, trays, and lid were all printed in the same orientation as they are used in the finished model and I printed them without any brim. But the hinges and the Clasps (you will need to print 2 of each per box) were printed upright on edge, I added a 5mm brim to these to give them some stability.

Supports are not needed on this model.
