No supports needed. Made for my wife's Ciri cosplay.
Glued pieces together then put apoxie sculpt putty between the seams of the connecting pieces. Let it harden for about 12 hours then sanded smooth up to the point where I couldn't feel like any gaps between glued seams. Afterwards the assembly was primed and painted metallic copper.
