Vive Tracker Mount for Quest 2 Elite Strap with Battery

Fits only the Quest 2 Elite Strap with Battery as designed.

Design files included should you need to make modifications to accommodate different head straps.  

I use my Quest 2 with SteamVR and often connect Vive Trackers for full-body tracking in social VR applications. 

To properly align the trackers in-headset, I synchronize SteamVR’s Chaperone system with the Quest’s Guardian using OpenVR Space Calibrator.

While this setup works fairly nicely, you will inevitably begin to experience some drift over time as you move around your play space. 

While recalibrating is a fairly quick operation, the frequency with which I was having to recalibrate quickly became an annoyance during longer play sessions.

Using a fork of OpenVR Space Calibrator by bdunderscore, you can avoid the inevitable drift by having the location of your trackers be continuously synced with your Quest's Guardian.

To accomplish this, you must mount a tracker directly onto your Quest 2. Since the Quest is already a fairly front-heavy headset, I created a mount that allows the tracker to be placed on the rear.

To assemble as designed, you will need the following:

• 4 M3x4mm threaded inserts (1 for each head strap clip, 2 for the mounting rail)
• 2 M3x6mm screws (one for each head strap clip)
• 2 M3x8mm hex head screws (for connecting the mounting rail)
• ¼“ x ½“ bolt (for securing the Vive Tracker to the mount). I have also successfully used a rubber band!
