THE PROGRAM
This is a parametric 2-in-1 spool adapter & spacer for the Bambu Lab reusable spools for cardboard spool cores that are either wider and/or shorter than Bambu Lab's. Programmed in OpenSCAD, this adapter and spacer uses minimal amount of filament and is easy to install.
This design uses "little teeth" to grip the cardboard spool core. Provided are STLs for Overture and Inland but you can easily modify the parameters to suit your filament brand.
PARAMETERS
| spool_inner_diameter | - minimum of 87mm - width of the inside of the cardboard spool core when measured across the center |
| spacer_thickness | - thickness of the spacer to compensate for cardboard spool cores that are narrower than Bambu Lab spool - some filament brands don't require spaces like Inland as the cardboard core is almost the same width as the Bambu Lab core |
| txt | - engraved onto the underside of the brim; aids in identifying for which brand the adapter is for - if spacer_thickness is less 0.8mm, txt will not be produced |
INSTRUCTIONS
Download OpenSCAD to open the script then follow the steps below:
1. Enter PARAMETERS based on the measurements of the filament spool.
2. Press F6 to render 3d model
3. Use File -> Export -> Export as STL, to export the STL file
Excited to see for which spool brands you'll be using this! Please share your parameters and post your makes!
