Description

Increase the volume of the SENCOR SFD 2105WH home filament dryer with one or two 3D printed spacers. One ring adds more space to dry two 750g, 1000g+ spools. Two rings go even further to three 750g, 1000g+ spools per one drying cycle.

Why did I choose this type of SENCOR food dehydrator? The important thing is that it is capable of drying at temperatures up to 80 °C. As 70 °C is not enough for some materials, see for example Fillamentum's guide of drying temperatures and times for main filaments. Yes, this food dryer type doesn't have a timer, but that can easily be solved with an outlet timer or smart outlet. A higher drying temperature is more important.

Assembly is possible tightly, without gluing. However, if your printer has loose tolerances, you can fix it by gluing. (If you are having trouble with material flow and parts are not assembling properly, play around with your printer settings.)

Important:

  • Do not use low-temperature materials such as PLA for printing this spacers, deformation may occur during drying. Reach instead for materials that can withstand temperatures around 80 °C without deformation, such as modified ASA or NonOilen, etc.
  • Use brim to secure the model on built plate. Print four pieces for one ring.
  • Before use it is necessary to cut the floors from the original dryer rings with cutters. I recommend leaving the one on the bottom complete. Note also that by rotating the original rings you can achieve different volumes thanks to their feet.
  • Never use the filament dryer as a food dryer again. You don't want to risk dust particles and microplastics getting into your food.
