Description
This is a drag friendly remix of my original housing. Instead of a clamp with two screws performing strain relief, this one has no separate clamp, nor does it require the two additional screws and nuts. Strain relief is now intended to be a nylon wire tie on the inside of the housing. Pull the cable through, strip enough of the cables outer jacket so the three wires will reach the outlet, then strip the individual wires and connect them to the outlet. Put a nylon wire tie around the cables insulation and tighten it while ensuring there's enough room to fit the connected wiring and outlet into the housing when the cable is pulled back until the wire tie bottoms against the housing. Secure the outlet to the housing with the three screws that held it to the original mounting plate.
This redesign should be less likely to break, having no clamp ears protruding, as the cable is dragged across a concrete floor.
