GM328 Acryllic Case Back With Tilting Stand

This is a low profile tilting stand for the GM328 electronic component tester, designed to work with the most commonly used acrylic case.

Included is a replacement part for the acrylic bottom plate and a copy of the stand I originally designed for the Velleman DVM850BL multimeter. The size and shape of that stand just seems to work well with all these cheap meter projects.

The new bottom piece for the case fits the remaining portions of the acrylic case hardware just like the original, but perhaps a bit easier. I made feet on the 4 corners with recesses that hold the nuts in place. I had originally assembled my case with the PCB mounting screws, head side down due to the mismatch of exposed screw lengths with the other case hardware, but that's no longer an issue since I made this.

If you have this tester without the case, you should search Thingiverse for alternative case builds. There are several nice designs for entirely printed cases. This part is exclusively for the acrylic case shown in the supplied images. Ignore the banana jacks on the left side of my case, those holes were drilled and not part of the purchased case.

For the majority of component testing I do with, it's easier to forego the ZIF socket and use clips or other test leads. For that reason, I found it easier to leave the device standing on end, but adding this tilt improves visibility even further.

I suspect that most people with 3D printers will be best served printing complete alternative cases, but since I've already been using mine in the case I paid money for, this is better for me. If you too have this acrylic case, and especially if you've already modified it to your liking, perhaps you'll find this useful as well.
